Colorado head coach Deion Sanders reiterated that he doesn't plan to follow his sons to the NFL following next season.

"I tell them the truth," Sanders said Saturday, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson. "I tell them I'm a father, not a baby daddy. I don't follow my kids. I pave roads for my kids. I build generational wealth for my kids. I lead my kids. I don't follow my kids. So I do not plan on following my kids to the NFL. I have work to do here.

Sanders added: "I just want to really bless you with a tremendously successful team. I really do. That's my heart."

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders will both be eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft. "Coach Prime" previously said both his sons and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter will turn pro following their second season with the Buffaloes.

Colorado has relied on the transfer portal for a consecutive offseason; over 40 players left, while 30 enrolled or committed since November.

Ahead of his second year on Colorado's sideline, Sanders said the newest additions to the roster have shown progress. The team held its spring game Saturday, showcasing a revamped roster following a 4-8 record in 2023.

"I love what we're building in this locker room, and if you're not a part of that thought process or that desire, you don't fit," Sanders said. "So now you see the gallop to the portal, you see that, but even with those guys, I wish them the best."

Colorado hosted several recruits and transfer portal prospects Saturday. The Buffaloes return to the Big 12 Conference later this year.
