Nick Kyrgios is one of tennis' most polarizing figures, and he lived up to that distinction after a fourth-round loss to Andy Murray on Monday.

Kyrgios touched on his passion for tennis when asked about the defeat to Murray.

"I don't love the sport," Kyrgios said afterward. "But, you know, I don't really know what else to do without it. I obviously like playing the game."

He also tried to explain why he struggles in big matches.

"I'm just a little soft still I think," Kyrgios said. "When things get tough I'm just a little bit soft."

The Australian has been criticized by some for his match preparation, especially after being spotted watching a doubles match before his showdown with Murray.

"Whether I was in the locker room sitting or sitting next to the court I don't think really made a difference," Kyrgios added. "I woke up this morning and played computer games. Is that the greatest preparation? I don't know. But it was fun."

Kyrgios also had a bizarre interaction with a reporter when asked if he was at a career crossroads.

Regardless of the opinions on Kyrgios, the fact remains he's still only 21 and possesses incredible talent. When he figures it all out, Kyrgios is going to be tough to beat. Though, he offered an interesting response when asked if he was frightened to commit to the game fully.

"Possibly. I've thought about it before."
