Teenage phenom Leroy Sane isn't planning on leaving Veltins-Arena in the near future.
FC Schalke 04 announced Saturday that the 19-year-old attacking midfielder put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the club until June 30, 2019.
"Leroy is an extremely talented football player, who already proved last season how versatile he is in attack," CEO and general manager Horst Heldt said.
Sane, who was given his first professional contract this summer, made 13 Bundesliga appearances last season, notching three goals in the process. He also scored in his Champions League debut at the Santiago Bernabeu, a fixture that saw Schalke defeat Real Madrid 4-3.
