Diego Simeone looks like a genius.
The Atletico gaffer, with his side down 1-0 at halftime of Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid, brought on Belgian winger Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco to give his side an attacking kick in the arm.
It took some 35 minutes to pay dividends, but the substitute did indeed bring his side level, smashing home a perfect cross from Juanfran in the 79th minute to bring the scoreline to one apiece.
The goal came just moments after Real Madrid squandered a golden opportunity to kill the match off at the other end. How quickly the tide can turn.
