Olivier Giroud's surgically repaired foot is healing faster than expected, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

"(He is doing) very well. He's three weeks ahead of schedule and I think he will join in normal training after the international break," Wenger said on the team's website Friday.

The French striker was originally expected to miss the remainder of the calendar year with the injury, but a report earlier this month suggested he was ahead of schedule and a return to training before the end of the year was possible.

The latest prognosis hints at the possibility of Giroud returning to match fitness some time in December, during one of the most gruelling periods on the Premier League schedule.

Barring any setbacks, a return to training will likely take place after Nov. 18, the last day scheduled for international matches.
