Suspect charged with murder of South African 'keeper Senzo Meyiwa
Devastating news shook the footballing world Sunday when the South African Police Service (SAPS) announced Orlando Pirates 'keeper Senzo Meyiwa had been shot to death in the township of Vosloorus, South Africa.
Meyiwa, who was also the captain of South Africa's national team and on the verge of helping Bafana Bafana reach the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, was reportedly murdered after refusing to give up his cell phone during a house robbery, leading the SAPS to launch a manhunt and offer a reward of 14,000 pounds for information leading to the arrest of conviction of the assailant.
On Friday, the SAPS provided an update on the situation, claiming that a man named Zenokuhle Mbatha has been charged in connection with the murder of Meyiwa.

As pointed out by the Guardian, South African officials called for a strict new gun law as a tribute to Meyiwa during a memorial service to honor the shot-stopper.
A burial will for Meyiwa will take place in his hometown this weekend.
