Jeremy Pied is linking up with Claude Puel for a third time.
On Monday, Pied signed a two-year contract with Southampton that will keep him at St. Mary's Stadium until the summer of 2018, joining the club on a free transfer after departing OGC Nice.
Pied, 27, worked with Puel at both Olympique Lyonnais and Nice.
Last season, under the French manager's supervision, the right-back made 33 appearances in Ligue 1 and tallied three assists. But just where he fits into a pecking order that features two others right-backs in Cedric Soares and Cuco Martina remains to be seen.
"I am very happy to be able to join this new team," Pied said. "I'm very proud. The English league is a very attractive one and it was a goal of mine to be able to play in it. I'm now very happy to join Southampton. You only have to look at the facilities and their results over the last few seasons to know that this is a very good Premier League club."
