Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund bestowed with 2016 FIFA Fan Award
Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have been recognised for their supporter unity when they combined before each leg of last season's Europa League quarter-final for rousing renditions of fan anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone."
The most notable occasion came in the first leg at Liverpool's packed, iconic Anfield home:
The matches, played over March 2016, ended in an enthralling 5-4 aggregate advantage in Liverpool's favour, but the two clubs, further united by current Reds boss and former Dortmund handler Jurgen Klopp, formed an irrevocable bond in North Rhine-Westphalia and Merseyside.
The clubs beat competition from Iceland, which won the hearts of Euro 2016 viewers through its supporters' viking clap - something which has been adopted by various fan bases across the world since - and the fact that 8 percent of the country's 330,000 population travelled to France to cheer on their heroes.
