Agent: Lukaku will sign new Everton contract
It's just a matter of time before Romelu Lukaku inks a new Everton contract, according to the Belgian forward's agent.
Reports in December suggested Lukaku was close to signing a new contract that would make the 23-year-old the highest paid player in Everton's history.
Yet, talks over a new contract, which would see Lukaku's weekly earnings rise from £25,000 to £100,000, have died down in recent weeks.
A possible return to Chelsea has been suggested in various reports - just over two years after he left Stamford Bridge to join the Toffees on a permanent basis - but agent Mino Raiola insisted that Lukaku and Everton share a positive relationship and that a new contract is nearly complete.
"There are no problems right now between the player and the club,"' Raiola said during an interview with Jim White on talkSPORT.
"Talks are ongoing. He will sign."
Lukaku is well on his way to leading Everton in scoring for a fourth successive season in the Premier League after finding the back of the net 16 times during 23 appearances. Overall, Lukaku has banged in 59 league goals since arriving at the Merseyside outfit.
