Report: Besiktas agrees to deal for Victor Valdes from Manchester United
Victor Valdes and Manchester United may have finally severed ties.
The Spanish 'keeper is close to calling Turkey home after Besiktas and United reached to an agreement to end his frustrating stay at Old Trafford, according to Sky Sports.
The next phase of the transfer will see Besiktas manager Senol Gunes determine if Valdes' introduction suits his side's requirements and whether he accepts the goalkeeper's personal terms.
A potential transfer would close the chapter on Valdes' awful time with United. The former Barcelona shot-stopper arrived at Old Trafford during the January transfer window, but was reduced to a role on the bench and eventually forced to play with the youth team.
Valdes, 33, couldn't contain his frustration with the situation and shared his thoughts on his role with the under-21 squad in a Twitter post in July.
Valdes only made two appearances for the Red Devils, including one start during United's final match of the season in a scoreless draw against Hull City.
