Jeers at Anfield: Liverpool, Norwich City produce draw in Daniel Sturridge's return
When Daniel Sturridge's name was found on Liverpool's team sheet ahead of kickoff, Saturday's fixture between the Merseyside club and Norwich City had the potential to trigger the turnaround for what supporters at Anfield have been patiently waiting.
However, after a dull first half, Danny Ings' first goal for Liverpool and Russell Martin's third goal of the season combined to manufacture a 1-1 draw, the final whistle resulting in jeers from Reds supporters and cheers from the section housing Norwich fans.

Time is ticking for Brendan Rodgers, as Liverpool continues to look like a fraction of the club it was 10 years ago, yet to score more than one goal in a single match, and sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
It could have been worse, too.
Had Simon Mignolet, whose error off a corner kick led to Russell's equaliser, not made a crucial save on Matt Jarvis in the 65th minute, Liverpool may very well have suffered defeat.
For Norwich, meanwhile, the result marked yet another positive step in its quest to avoid an immediate return to the Championship, and Martin is now the top-scoring defender in the Premier League. His brother, Jamie Martin, took to Twitter to detail how his sibling witnessed the birth of his son, flew back to Liverpool, and scored a captivating goal in one day.
For the record my bro drove 4hrs at midnight to get back for birth of his son...travelled bk to Liverpool this morn to play. Scored. #NCFC

This likely wasn't the return Sturridge, who hadn't played since April due to hip surgery, was hoping would unfold.
