On Friday, Leicester City confirmed the signing of Amartey, 21, from FC Copenhagen on a four-and-a-half-year contract that ties him to the Foxes until 2020. The transfer, which is subject to Football Association, Premier League, and international clearance, is reportedly valued at £5 million.

The signing comes four days after Copenhagen announced an agreement with Leicester for Amartey's transfer, marking the Foxes' second signing of the January transfer window following the acquisition of Demarai Gray for a reported £3.7-million fee.
"It's a great pleasure to join Leicester City. I know the Club have been interested in signing me for some time and that was a big part of my decision to come here," Amartey said. "All over Europe, people are talking about Leicester and how well the Club is doing in the Premier League. The team plays exciting, attacking football and I'm looking forward to being part of it."
Amartey, who can operate as both a centre-back and a defensive midfielder, participated in Leicester's training session Friday and could make his debut Saturday for the Foxes, when the club welcomes Stoke City.
