Bale, Ronaldo not for sale according to Real Madrid icon Zinedine Zidane
Real Madrid's superstar duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale aren't going anywhere, according to B-team manager Zinedine Zidane.
The Madrid and France icon said neither winger will be made available in the transfer market while under contract, even if they are attracting interest from around the world.
"No, he is not for sale, it wouldn't make sense," Zidane told reporters. "Big players are what people want to read about, so that is why they are written about, but why would Real Madrid have any intention of selling the best player in the world?
"Cristiano Ronaldo has been the best player in the world for the past few years, and he knows he is the best. It doesn't mean that he doesn't work hard, or that he doesn't want to improve and get better, but he has that confidence where he knows how good he is."
The former French international and captain also reiterated that the club was not looking at offloading Bale, either, despite the Welshman being less than warmly received in the Spanish capital. Bale's camp has made it clear a move away wasn't in the cards this summer, though, a sentiment Zidane echoed.
"Of course clubs are going to want Gareth, he is one of the best in the world, but I am not sure how much clearer we can be," Zidane said. "Gareth has made it clear, his agent has made it clear, we have made it clear, his future is at Real Madrid. We sign the best players in the world, we don't sell them."
Just don't tell that to Mesut Ozil, Alvaro Morata, Angel Di Maria, Arjen Robben, Gonzalo Higuain, Kaka, Xabi Alonso, and Wesley Sneijder, though.
