Siqueira, 29, joined Atleti ahead of the 2014-15 La Liga season but, following Filipe Luis' return to the Vicente Calderon last year, found himself behind Luis in Los Rojiblancos' pecking order during the first half of this campaign.
Newcastle United was reportedly close to a loan deal for Siqueira until the transfer collapsed because, for whatever reason, he failed to join the Tyne-Wear club for a medical.
