Brewers' Braun diagnosed with oblique strain, will sit Monday vs. Cardinals
The Milwaukee Brewers received some clarity Monday regarding the ailment currently plaguing outfielder Ryan Braun, reports MLB.com's Adam McCalvy.
Braun had MRI yesterday and it turns out he has a strained oblique, not intercostal. Significance, he said, is knowing exactly how to treat.

The 30-year-old was initially expected to miss three to five days after ostensibly suffering an intercostal strain during Saturday's game against the Cubs. However, Monday's more precise diagnosis could affect Braun's expected recovery time.
Braun will nevertheless miss Monday's series opener against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium, as expected.

A five-time All-Star, Braun is hitting .318/.361/.591 with six home runs and three stolen bases through his first 22 games this season.
