DETROIT - The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain.

The team reinstated outfielder Sam Fuld from his rehab assignment and recalled catcher Eric Fryer on Friday night before opening a series in Detroit.

Hicks was hurt diving for a ball June 7 in Houston. He has a .198 average with one homer and nine RBIs in 48 games. Hicks, who Minnesota drafted No. 14 overall in 208, is hitting .194 with nine homers and 36 RBIs in 129 games over two seasons.

Fuld was put on the seven-day DL May 8 with concussion-like symptoms. He hit .429 over four games at Double-A New Britain to get ready for his return.

Fryer hit .252 in 36 games this season at Triple-A Rochester.
