The first 15,000 fans at Coors Field for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates were to receive the "Tulowizki" replica jersey.
Thousands more on Twitter joined in shaming the club.
The Rockies released a statement regarding the typo, saying the club was aware of the misspelling but decided to move forward with the promotion to avoid disappointing fans.
