Tigers' Davis removed from Game 2 with 'tightness'
Detroit Tigers outfielder Rajai Davis exited Friday's Game 2 of the American League Division Series after hobbling out of the box on a fourth-inning single.
Davis, who suffered a Grade 1 groin strain during the final weekend of the regular season, was replaced by Ezequiel Carrera. He was removed from the game with tightness, the team said.
The speedy outfielder laced what appeared to be a sure double down the left field line off Baltimore Orioles lefty Wei-Yin Chen, but Davis only managed a single.
If his condition doesn't improve, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus will have a difficult decision to make.
Ausmus could elect to rest the veteran with an off day Saturday before Game 3, but if he chooses to replace the center fielder on the ALDS roster, Davis won't be eligible to return until the World Series.
