Commissioner-elect Manfred speaks on pace-of-game experiment, domestic violence

MLB Commissioner-to-be Rob Manfred addressed the media Wednesday prior to Game 2 of the World Series where took time to speak about the pace-of-game experiment in the Arizona Fall League and the league's domestic violence policy.

Manfred revealed there isn't yet enough data to draw conclusions after the league's latest attempt to speed up the game by implementing a pace of game clock. The 20-second time allotted between pitches in the instructional league is drawing mixed reviews, but games are being played much faster.

Manfred also spoke about the league's new stance on domestic violence: he is engaged in talks with the MLBPA and expects a resolution at some point next year.

"We try to pay attention to what goes on around us," Manfred said when asked about the recent domestic violence issues in the NFL and NHL.

Both hot-button issues will surely be on the agenda at the 2014 Winter Meetings, set to be held in San Diego in December.
