The Tampa Bay Rays have locked up their setup man for another season.
The club exercised its $2.5 million option Monday on right-hander Joel Peralta, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Peralta posted a 4.41 ERA in 69 appearances last season, but his 74/15 strikeout-to-walk ratio was very impressive.
The team also holds $2.5 million options on the reliever for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
