Report: Dodgers agree to 4-year, $48-million deal with Brandon McCarthy

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a four-year, $48-million deal with right-hander Brandon McCarthy, report FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal and CBS Sports' Jon Heyman. 

The 31-year-old compiled an impressive 7-5 record with a 2.89 ERA in 14 starts for the New York Yankees after being acquired via the Arizona Diamondbacks in July.

The potential signing could be the Dodgers' third huge move Wednesday at the winter meetings. Los Angeles has also reportedly acquired Miami Marlins left-hander Andrew Heaney and three minor leaguers, as well as Jimmy Rollins from the Philadelphia Phillies.

Heaney was later reportedly flipped to the Los Angeles Angels for second baseman Howie Kendrick. 

McCarthy could join an already stacked rotation that boasts Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, and Hyun-jin Ryu. Either Heaney or Juan Nicasio, who was acquired from the Colorado Rockies in November, could hold down the fifth spot in the rotation, providing the Dodgers don't make another move to enhance their pitching staff.
