The Chicago White Sox acquired left-handed reliever Dan Jennings from the Miami Marlins in exchange for right-hander Andre Rienzo, the Marlins announced Thursday.
Chicago continues to rebuild one of the major league's worst bullpens from a season ago with the addition of Jennings. The White Sox agreed to a three-year, $15-million deal with Zach Duke earlier in the offseason and also signed closer David Robertson to a four-year, $46-million contract.

Jennings posted a 1.34 ERA in 47 games, but his inability to keep the opposition off the basepaths is somewhat concerning. The 27-year-old allowed 45 hits in 40 1/3 innings in addition to 17 walks. Over his three-year career, Jennings owns a 2.43 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 100 innings.
Rienzo posted a 6-8 record and 5.89 ERA over 28 career appearances across two seasons. The 26-year-old began last season as a starter, going 4-5 with a 5.97 ERA in 11 starts and finished the year as a reliever with little success, allowing 11 earned runs in 6 1/3 innings.
