The Texas Rangers have acquired left-hander Ross Detwiler from the Washington Nationals for two minor leaguers, the Nationals announced Friday.
Detwiler, who is arbitration-eligible and projected to make $3.3 million in 2015, has the ability to start or come out of the bullpen as the long man. The 28-year-old went 2-3 with a 4.00 ERA in 47 games for the Nationals last season.
Infielder Chris Bostick and right-handed pitcher Abel De Los Santos are heading back the other way to Washington.
Bostick hit .251 with 11 home runs and 62 RBIs for Advanced-A Myrtle Beach last season while his teammate, Santos, went 5-2 with a 1.97 ERA out of the bullpen for the Pelicans.
