Ike Davis can do it all.
The Oakland Athletics' first baseman, who went into Tuesday hitting a robust .317/.396/.488, took the mound in the bottom of the eighth, his club being battered 14-1.
And Davis shined.

He retired the side in order, inducing three straight ground balls. That's how it's done, kids.
Davis only threw nine pitches, says he's available tomorrow: "I’ll pitch anytime they want me to."

Davis volunteered to pitch, his team down 13 runs, he said after the game, and hit 88 MPH on the gun.
"That was weird," he said. "At least I know I can throw strikes still."
