One of the best outfields in baseball will remain intact, at least for now.
Starling Marte is fine after being hit by a pitch on the hand in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Chicago Cubs.
The Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder underwent precautionary X-rays to detect a possible break in the hand, but they came back negative.
He is considered day-to-day.
Marte is hitting .224 with five home runs and 12 RBIs in 14 games.
