Colorado Rockies manager Walt Weiss is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing an emergency appendectomy Wednesday.
Weiss had to be taken to hospital for tests after experiencing stomach pains prior to the Rockies game with the Los Angeles Angels and was forced to undergo surgery.
"As far as I know, from what the trainers told me, he had some surgery on his appendix. It went well. He's resting," bench coach Tom Runnells told Earl Bloom of MLB.com. "He's going to L.A., but probably out of commission for a couple of days."
Runnells managed the team during Wednesday's 2-1 loss and is expected to take over for Weiss until he's healthy enough to return.
