Reeling Yankees suffer 10th loss in 11 games after Rangers sweep
Less than two weeks after boasting the best record in the American League, the Bronx Bombers are nose-diving back to earth.
The New York Yankees dropped Sunday's series finale to the Texas Rangers 5-2 for their sixth straight loss and 10th in 11 games. It's the Yankees' most defeats in an 11-game span since May 23-June 3, 1995, according to ESPN Stats & Info, and the first time this season New York has been swept at home.

Left-hander Chris Capuano, making his second start of the season, allowed two earned runs on eight hits over 4 1/2 innings in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. Since Michael Pineda's 16-strikeout, no-walk masterpiece May 10, Yankees starters own an unsightly 6.13 ERA and 1.49 WHIP.
Despite their struggles, the Yankees (22-22) entered play Monday just 1 1/2 games out of first place in the middling AL East, which remains the only division in baseball without a 25-game winner.
