Eduardo Rodriguez hurls 7 2/3 shutout innings, picks up win in big-league debut
The Boston Red Sox may have finally found some stability in their starting rotation.
Eduardo Rodriguez allowed three hits, two walks, and amassed seven strikeouts over 7 2/3 scoreless frames to earn his first big-league win Thursday night in a 5-1 victory over the Texas Rangers.
At 7.2 innings, Eduardo Rodriguez has the longest scoreless outing by a Red Sox in his major league debut since Billy Rohr in 1967 (9.0 IP).

The southpaw whiffed Prince Fielder in the bottom of the first inning to claim his first career strikeout victim.
Rodriguez, who was acquired from Baltimore in the Andrew Miller trade last year, had been solid in eight starts at Triple-A Pawtucket prior to being called up, posting a 2.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while striking out 44 batters over 48 1/3 innings.
