MRI on Howie Kendrick's knee comes back clean, may still require DL stint

The Los Angeles Dodgers may have a short-term void to fill at second base.
An MRI on Howie Kendrick's sore left knee revealed no structural damage, but he may still require a stint on the disabled list.
Kendrick sat out Thursday's loss to the St. Louis Cardinals after injuring the knee sliding into third base Wednesday in Colorado and remains out of the lineup Friday.
The veteran is hitting a respectable .285 with five home runs and 23 RBIs in 52 games for the Dodgers, who have plenty of options to replace him. Justin Turner, Enrique Hernandez, and Alberto Callaspo are all options for manager Don Mattingly to consider.
