Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez left Sunday's contest with the New York Mets with a right hand contusion.
Gonzalez was hit by a Steven Matz 95-mph fastball in his first at-bat and stayed in the game until he was pinch hit for in the fourth inning.
When taken to the trainer's room to be further evaluated, the slugger told staff he didn't need X-rays on his hand. Unless the injury increases in severity, Gonzalez expects to play Monday.
