Report: Giants sign Everth Cabrera to minor-league contract

The San Francisco Giants improved their organizational infield depth Thursday.
Everth Cabrera, who was released last week by the Baltimore Orioles, has inked a minor-league contract with the Giants, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.
Cabrera hit .208 with a .479 OPS in 29 games with the O's, but isn't too far removed from an All-Star campaign with the San Diego Padres in 2013.
The speedy 28-year-old can play both shortstop and second base, and offers the Giants a potential switch-hitting option off the bench.
