A perfect holiday stocking stuffer has emerged for Toronto Blue Jays fans who like to live in the past.
Blue Jays calendars for the 2016 year have been spotted in stores with the team's former ace, David Price, front and center, despite the 30-year-old having signed a seven-year, $217-million contract with the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday.
A report surfaced Wednesday suggesting former Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos planned to attempt to re-sign Price, but new president and CEO Mark Shapiro chose not to table an offer.
In defense of the calendar designers, it looks as though they were created well in advance of the coming year, with former shortstop Jose Reyes and pitcher Daniel Norris also appearing as cover athletes.
