Montreal mayor announces plan to get MLB team back

Hours before the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox were set to take the field at Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec, the city's mayor, Denis Coderre, had a big announcement to make:
According to Coderre's "Baseball Action Plan" for 2016, Montreal will add $11 million in funding to help attract an MLB squad back to Quebec.
Montreal hasn't fielded an MLB club since the Expos took the field in 2004, before the club relocated to Washington, where they became the Nationals.
Over the course of 35 MLB seasons, the Expos never appeared in a World Series and only managed to win one East division title, in 1981 amid a player's strike.
