The driver of the Range Rover that struck and killed Bellator MMA fighter Jordan Parsons was taken into custody on Saturday, according to a Facebook post from the Delray Beach Police Department.

Dennis Wright, 28, was arrested by the Delray Beach PD for his involvement in the fatal hit-and-run.

A six-day investigation revealed Wright's attempts to repair and then hide the offending vehicle. Wright is facing several charges, including leaving the scene of a crash causing death, driving with a suspended licence as a habitual offender, and tampering with evidence.

The post paints a grim picture of Wright, as he was allegedly going over 100 mph when he struck Parsons in the middle of a crosswalk. A witness claims that Wright and an accompanying vehicle drove off without slowing down.

The police also mention Wright's criminal history, including "arrests for DUI, disorderly intoxication, marijuana possession and assault on an officer or firefighter."

Parsons was hospitalized this past Saturday after being injured in the hit-and-run that occurred in Delray Beach, Fla. He remained in critical condition until his death on Wednesday at the age of 25.

The crash investigation is ongoing.
