Nick Diaz court date for one DUI charge set for Sept. 25; no date set for 2nd DUI hearing

Nick Diaz's multiple arrests for suspicion of driving under the influence do not appear to be getting rolled into a single court date.

On Sept. 6, Diaz was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, obstructing a police officer, destruction of evidence and driving with a suspended license. It was later reported that he had also been arrested on Nov. 20 for driving under the influence, driving under the influence with an alcohol or drug level above .08, and unsafe speed for prevailing conditions.

The prior arrest saw Diaz push back and miss several court dates, and his most recent arraignment had been scheduled for Sept. 25. On Wednesday, the San Joaquin County Court confirmed to MMA Fight Corner that the Sept. 25 arraignment date will move forward as scheduled, but that a court date for his more recent arrest has not been scheduled.

It will be interesting to see if Diaz shows and how he pleads, considering he's been unreliable with these matters in the past. If convicted, Diaz could face license suspension, fines or even jail time. A second offense carries harsher punishments.

The UFC has made it clear they're letting the legal process play out before making any call on Diaz, but they'll obviously be watching closely next week, with Diaz's Jan. 31 bout with Anderson Silva possibly in jeopardy.
