Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier fined for roles in brawl

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was fined $50,000 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his role in the Aug. 4 brawl with Daniel Cormier in the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Jones was also ordered to do 40 hours of community service.

Cormier was fined $9,000 for the incident and ordered to do 20 hours of community service.

According to multiple reports, the incident also cost Jones his deal with Nike, and another six-figure sponsorship.

"I made us all look bad as a champion," Jones said. "It was a terrible thing in a very heated moment. I've never done anything to discourage the sport. I make a very conscious effort to be a great example. It's embarrassing for me. I realize it comes with consequences and, as a man, I've come to accept them."
