Dana White says Anthony Johnson may never fight for UFC again amid domestic-abuse allegations

While the UFC continues to independently investigate domestic-abuse allegations against light heavyweight fighter Anthony Johnson, UFC president Dana White does not sound confident in Johnson ever returning to the promotion.

The UFC suspended Johnson indefinitely last week after accusations of alleged domestic abuse and threats, with charges laid and Johnson released on $40,000 bond. Johnson had previously pleaded no contest to a similar charge in 2010, receiving three years probation.

On Thursday, White explained to ESPN that Johnson's suspension will last until the current charges are dealt with. While UFC lawyers have evidence to suggest the accuser's timeline may not be accurate, he was unsure what Johnson's future holds:

When she's saying this happened, he wasn't even in the country. He was out of the country. They have proof.

He's not in a good position right now. He was at the biggest point of his career, where he was just on the cusp of making huge money, being involved in huge fights. I wouldn't want to be him right now. He's not in a good position. (An indefinite suspension) doesn't mean he's definitely going to fight here. Even if (the latest allegations) go his way. We'll see what happens.

The promotion was sure to speak in uncertain terms until the fact-gathering process has carried out, pointing to its precedent of allowing for due process. The UFC has a stated zero-tolerance policy on domestic abuse but, "you've got to give people a fair fucking shake," White said.
