Including this year's Warriors, 15 teams have won at least 66 games in a season, with 12 going on to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy. The three squads which didn't advance to the NBA Finals got as far as the conference finals before bowing out.
With three games remaining on their schedule, the Warriors will need to go a perfect 3-0 to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' single-season record of 72 victories.
They hit the road for a meeting with the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night at FedExForum, battle the Spurs again on Sunday, then finish off the season at Oracle Arena on April 13 against the Grizzlies.
Following the win over San Antonio, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he is "inclined" to rest some of his key players over the final stretch. However, he will ultimately leave the decision of whether or not to go after 73 wins up to his players.
