DeRozan passes Carter on Raptors' all-time scoring list
With his fourth-quarter basket Sunday, DeMar DeRozan passed Vince Carter for second on the Toronto Raptors' all-time scoring list.
DeRozan reached 9,421 points for his career after nailing a 16-foot jump shot midway through the fourth.
Taken with the ninth pick in the 2009 draft, DeRozan has been a steady scorer for the Raptors since entering the league as a 20-year-old. The USC product has totaled at least 1,000 points in every year following his rookie season.
The 6-foot-7 shooting guard is in the midst of his best scoring season to date, averaging a career-high 23.6 points per game, while shooting at his best clip since 2012-13.
Carter spent his first six-and-a-half seasons in Toronto, eventually being traded to the New Jersey Nets in 2004-05. At 39 years of age, Carter has continued to add to his total, sitting 24th on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
Chris Bosh sits on top the Raptors' all-time scoring list with 10,275 points - a mark DeRozan will almost certainly match should the soon-to-be unrestricted free agent re-up in Toronto this summer.
