Curry suggests ankle could keep him out of Game 3
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Stephen Curry did "everything" in Wednesday's practice, but the reigning NBA MVP still doesn't sound optimistic about playing in Thursday's Game 3 against the Houston Rockets.
"Based on how I feel right now, I probably couldn't play," Curry said Wednesday. "That could change tomorrow."
The Warriors point guard sat out Monday's Game 2 win due to a right ankle injury sustained during Saturday's blowout victory in Game 1. He tested the ankle out in a pregame workout Monday before deciding he couldn't go.
If Curry suits up for Game 3, he would have had four days off between games, but if the Warriors hold him out again, he'll have had at least seven days off by the time Sunday's Game 4 rolls around.
Kerr said Tuesday the team's decision with regards to Curry's status will be completely dependent on their superstar's health, and not the status of the series, of which the Warriors are in control.
