Cavaliers tie playoff record for most 3-pointers
The Cleveland Cavaliers used the three-ball to take a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Detroit Pistons.
Behind seven makes from J.R. Smith, the Cavaliers made 20 threes in Game 2 to tie the previous record shared by the 2011 Dallas Mavericks and the 1996 Seattle SuperSonics.
Hot shooting from the Cavaliers kept their offense afloat in the first half when the Pistons continued their inspired play from Game 1 to hang 53 points on Cleveland at halftime.

The Pistons would eventually cool off, while the Cavaliers stayed piping hot. Cleveland scored more points on six threes than the Pistons did in the entire third quarter (15) to pull away from their Central Division rivals.
Smith even went as far as launching a wild heat check toward the end of the third much to the dismay of Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue.
Cleveland has made 32 threes in the postseason - 13 more than the next closest team.
