Lowry wanted to watch Warriors-Thunder game at Lue's house
When Kyle Lowry entered the NBA back in 2006, he quickly found a similarly scrappy, undersized, and overlooked point guard to mentor him.
Ten years later, that mentor has coached the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference finals against Lowry's Toronto Raptors.
As he tries to game plan for his former protege, Tyronn Lue still remembers encouraging Lowry to aim high.
Before Thursday's Game 2, Lue told reporters that he's been talking to Lowry throughout this year's playoffs. Lue said Lowry even wanted to come to his house Wednesday to watch Game 2 of the Western Conference finals between the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder.
He didn't, of course. Lowry knew he couldn't so brazenly waltz behind enemy lines in the middle of the biggest playoff series in Raptors franchise history - no matter how dope that Warriors-Thunder series has been.
