Dahntay Jones delivers low blow to Bismack Biyombo in garbage time
The Cleveland Cavaliers' 14th man will be hearing from the league about his dirty punch in the dying seconds of Game 3.
Having suffered their first loss of the postseason with a 99-84 defeat at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday, Cavaliers guard Dahntay Jones delivered a punch below the belt to Bismack Biyombo late in the fourth quarter.
No foul was called on the play.
The punch didn't affect the outcome of the game, but it did leave Biyombo shaken up. He stayed down until after the final buzzer sounded.
Afterward, Biyombo explained the obvious: Jones made a dirty play in garbage time.
"I got hit in the area that I wasn't supposed to be hit on. A private area, so to speak. Whenever the league has a chance, they probably want to take a look. That's all I can say on that one," BIyombo said.
Perhaps the motive was retaliation. Biyombo clobbered LeBron James earlier in the match and frustrated the Cavaliers in the paint with 26 rebounds and four blocks.
A dirty move wouldn't be out of character for Jones, who famously tried to injure Kobe Bryant - twice.
