LeBron will pay Dahntay Jones' $80 fine for low-blow on Biyombo
LeBron James has already dished out 78 assists during the 2016 NBA playoffs.
On Monday, he added an unofficial dime to his tally, telling Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon that he was going to pay Cavaliers teammate Dahntay Jones' fine stemming from his one-game suspension.
Jones, who only made about $8,800 for signing with the Cavs before their regular season finale, was suspended without pay for his low-blow on Toronto Raptors center Bismack Biyombo at the conclusion of Game 3.
Jones' fine - 1/110th of his salary - only amounts to $80.
While Jones has said his striking of Biyombo was unintentional, It's worth considering whether LeBron saw it as Jones' way of sticking up for King James, who has been on the receiving end of multiple hard fouls from Biyombo over the course of the Eastern Conference finals.
Biyombo was assessed a flagrant-1 for such a foul earlier in Game 3, which Toronto went on to win, cutting Cleveland's series lead to 2-1.
Game 4 goes Monday night in Toronto.
