Embiid begins recruitment of Durant to Sixers
Joel Embiid asked his Instagram followers to "trust the new process" on Monday night, which apparently involves making a recruitment pitch to four-time league scoring champion Kevin Durant.
The chances of Durant picking the lowly Phildelphia 76ers as his new home in free agency may appear slim, but that won't stop Embiid from putting his best foot forward in trying to convince the former NBA Most Valuable Player to take residence in the City of Brotherly Love.
Shortly after the Oklahoma City Thunder fell out of title contention with a Game 7 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals, Embiid tweeted his intentions, sarcastic or otherwise, that he would try to get Durant playing in Sixers colors.
The 22-year-old likes to think big when it comes to free agents. Back in 2014, he sought to lure LeBron James to Philly.
It almost worked, apparently.
