After watching center DeAndre Jordan back out of his verbal agreement to join the team last summer, the Dallas Mavericks weren't going to let another high-profile free agent slip out of their hands at the last moment.
Forward Harrison Barnes inked his reported four-year, $94-million contract with the Mavericks shortly after the NBA free-agent moratorium ended at 12:01 a.m. Thursday morning.
To poke fun at the Jordan saga, team president Donnie Nelson handcuffed himself to Barnes while posing alongside head coach Rick Carlisle and assistant vice president Michael Finley.
