Ingram says Maker's deceptively jacked: 'Tell him to take his shirt off'
Listed at 7-foot-1 and 223 pounds, Thon Maker is a tall and skinny man.
According to a fellow NBA rookie with whom he spent plenty of time training ahead of June's draft, Maker's packing more muscle than you'd think.
"One day, tell him to take his shirt off," Brandon Ingram, who was selected No. 2 overall by the Los Angeles Lakers, told SI's Jeremy Woo.
Not sure how much stock you can put into Ingram's evaluation, as his struggles to add weight to his 6-foot-9, 190-pound body has been well documented.
Regardless, he said the "in-shape like crazy" Maker is "one of the hardest workers in our group."
That should be music to the ears of Bucks brass, as should Maker's approach to both making the pros and contributing to his new squad.
"I just come in and work and do what is required of me to do, and do it professionally," he said. "I'm just learning as much as I can from the (Bucks') coaching staff, the players, using that to the best of my ability. Not shying away from anything, I'm coming in to compete every single day. I'm ready. I'm ready to help."
The 19-year-old could make his NBA debut Oct. 26 versus the Charlotte Hornets.
