Report: Bucks looking to acquire wing to compensate for Middleton loss
With the news that Khris Middleton has torn his hamstring, the Milwaukee Bucks are making calls to possibly acquire another wing player to compensate for losing their starting shooting guard, sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 25-year-old will undergo surgery to repair the damage, with a timetable for his return set at six months.
Head coach Jason Kidd has a number of guards on his roster he could theoretically insert into his lineup, but none of them are the caliber of Middleton, a two-way presence who averaged a career high 18.2 points on 44.4 percent shooting and 39.6 percent from 3-point range in 79 appearances last season.
Rashad Vaughn was slotted behind Middleton on the team's depth chart, with Matthew Dellavedova (four years, $38.4 million) and "The Jet" Jason Terry (one year, $1.5 million) also capable of manning the two spot if need be.
Middleton signed a five-year, $70-million contract with the franchise in 2015. Milwaukee finished with a 33-49 record, missing out on the playoffs for the second time in three years.
