Bosh: I'm still hoping to prove myself as a basketball player
While Miami Heat president Pat Riley has publicly stated that Chris Bosh's future with the team is likely over, the 11-time All-Star hasn't given up on his goal of returning to an NBA court.
"I'm still hoping to have my moment just to prove myself as a basketball player," Bosh said in a self-directed documentary on The Uninterrupted. "I know people kind of question if I'm going to be able to produce like I did. I think I'll be able to produce more. I put in all the work so let's see where I'm at."
Bosh opened up about his struggles in his most recent documentary, stating that he's had a difficult time coping with his life without basketball.
"What would you do if you couldn't do what you love? I go to these other creative outlets and I'm a beginner, I'm a child. But the thing I have a master's level at, I can't do.
"Does basketball define me totally? The answer's no, it does not, but I'm a basketball player, I was made to play basketball. That's been something that's been a huge challenge for me. I've been sitting, I've been waiting. It's like I'm not a basketball player, but I am a basketball player."
Reports surfaced last week stating Heat officials believe Bosh's NBA career is likely over after discovering more blood clotting prior to training camp. The 32-year-old has reportedly left his agency since, and is continuing to search for ways to eventually make a return.
