Sixers' Embiid to miss Wednesday's game vs. Pacers
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will not travel to Indiana for the team's upcoming game against the Pacers on Wednesday night.
"That kind of caught me off guard," Embiid told Jessica Camerato of CSNPhilly. "I want to play more, but they care about me."
After missing the last two seasons recovering from foot surgery, the Sixers have been very careful with the Cameroonian 7-footer during his rookie campaign, placing him on a strict minutes restriction as they wait for him to fully recover.
"I think it's more about recovery, the rest that I've got to get. That's why they made that decision," Embiid said.
Embiid has been a monster when he's been on the court, averaging 29.6 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.4 blocks, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per 36 minutes.
"Whatever how many years I'm going to play, 15, 20 years, it's really going to help me down the road," Embiid added.
Philadelphia (0-6) is still looking for its first win of the season.
